My Art Gallery

Here, you will find a collection of some of my favourite paintings.
I studied art at school and college and I still enjoy the odd trip to a gallery (sad aren't I?)

Bathers by Paul Cézanne

Bathers at Asnières by Georges-Pierre Seurat

Woman in a Tub by Edgar Degas

There seems to be a bathing motif going on here. I don't know why as I hardly do it myself.

Study for Portrait II (after the Life Mask of William Blake)

Study for Portrait on Folding Bed

Three Figures and Portrait

Francis Bacon has got to be one of the most exciting, visceral painters I know of. His paintings never cease to stagger me.

Norham Castle, Sunrise

Rain, Steam and Speed: The Great Western Railway

Landscape with Lake and Fallen Tree
I think Joseph Mallard Turner is a fantastic painter. The small selection here don't go anywhere near to showing the power of some of his paintings. Every time I go to London I really try to get to the Tate to see his paintings.

The National Gallery of Scotland

I was recently in Edinburgh for the Dead By Dawn film festival and took the opportunity to visit the National Gallery of Scotland. Here are some postcards I bought there:

The Big Trees by Paul Cézanne

Woman Drying Herself by Edgar Degas

A Group of Dancers by Edgar Degas
